Joint Resurfacing
Technological advances continue in the world of joint pain and arthritis, espeically in younger people. Traditional methods of treating arthritis with joint replacement have become common worldwide, however an alternative now exists. Rather than replacing a joint, we are now able to 'resurface' -- replacing only the surface of the joint without removing excessive bone. This technique essentially attempts to restore a more anatomic joint surface using metal parts. Most commonly used for the hip, this procedure takes away a fraction of the bone removed for a traditional hip replacement. With over 15 years of improving this technology, we are happy to help guide you if this is right for you.
